| Welcome to the Campaign for an Independent England |
|
The Campaign for an Independent England (CIE) was created to galvanize the English Independence Movement into one powerful and effective voice.
The CIE was officially launched on the 1st of May 2007 in Parliament Square, London. This is a symbolic date in English history as it is the 300th anniversary of England ceasing to be a nation state in her own right.
For three hundred years England has passed over its sovereignty to the British state. Year after year, more of the ability to govern ourselves is being subsumed by Britain. Opinion polls show that the majority of English and Scottish people want independence, but politicians constantly ignore their demands. Politicians need to realise that democracy and the will of the people are nothing to be afraid of. Democracy means ‘by the people, for the people’, not by politicians for politicians. The people of England deserve the right to decide if we wish to remain part of United Kingdom, or to live in a new, self-governig nation state. Our aim is a simple one. To force the British government to provide a referendum on how we wish to be governed.
If you would like to see England as a self-governing nation state, and put an end to the destruction of our culture and heritage, read the information on this website and then sign our PETITION for a referendum on an Independent England. |
